Dear Sir/Madame, I just found your partnership request regarding the call: Development of solutions based on renewable sources that provide flexibility to the energy system. BIO2CHP PC is an Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, spin-off company, established in 2017, with the aim to finalize the development and introduce to the market a technology allowing small-scale energy production, from raw residual biomass. Our technology is based on long basic & applied research in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics, where the application of modern technologies & techniques of „cleaning“ exhaust gases from automotive diesel engines was applied to „clean“ gasification-produced gas from raw residual biomass. A prototype was built, proving the concept, operating for more than 3,000 hours both in and outside the lab, using grape pomace, peach & olive kernels, almond shells, etc. We are currently building our first industrial pilot that will be installed at the facilities of a winery in Greece to use grape marc & stalks for the combined heat and energy production, under a project which received the seal of excellence from the EC. Having read the call, I am persuaded that we could bring added value to projects and consortia, bringing know-how, experience, and a TRL7 technology that could be used to support demonstration and/or pilot projects. Dear colleagues, We would like to present you a description of the suggested common project concept. The title of the proposed project: ?Smart Energy?. Location: Uzhhorod National University (Uzhhorod, Ukraine), Ternopil National Economic University (Ternopil, Ukraine), University of South Bohemia in ?eske Budejovice (?eske Budejovice, Czech Republic), Technical University of Ko?ice (Ko?ice, Slovak Republic), Rzeszow University of Technology (Rzeszow, Poland) General objective: Reduction of ??2 and greenhouse gases emissions using renewable energy sources and innovative technologies of energy efficiency in Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland? Specific objectives: 1. To increase of the usage of new technologies and innovations in the field of renewable energy and resource efficiency by means of establishment of climatic laboratories at the universities that will help to mitigate climate change in Ukraine, Slovakia ?.. 2. To develop energetic platform ?Smart Energy? based on cluster approach ?Universities-communities? for pilot communities and universities to be institutional and information basis for practical implementation in communities. 3. To perform monitoring of companies? greenhouse gases emission and to implement emission trading schemes in order to reach sustainable development of the project area, mitigation of climate change and energy safety of partners? countries. Short description of problems which project aimed: Current problems with gas emissions and final energy consumption make challenges for national governments. Carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides that emit cars are greenhouse gases and lead to climate change. Therefore, we have an impact not only on human health, but also on the real danger to the environment. There is a great deal of potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions through greater energy efficiency, so we can derive benefit from climate-related funds. Ukraine?s economy is traditionally dominated by heavy industry and the country?s carbon dioxide emissions are three times the EU average. Even by global standards, Ukraine?s emissions are still twice the average. This is one of the main reasons why Ukraine has made a commitment to develop its climate policy. Public sector uses 65% of energy resources in Uzhhorod and 69% – in Ternopil. Monitoring and change for alternative inexhaustible resources can help in automating the system of heating and energy consumption of kindergartens, schools, hospitals and public institutions. Nowadays, in Zakarpattya and Ternopil regions, there are no autonomous system of ecological energy in public sector. This project is aimed to solve tasks and achieve goals owing to improvement of municipal system of energy management of a city, widening the circle of objects, intensification of institutional structure, development of technical and information and methodic base, support of periodic work, clear characteristic of indicators of energy efficiency, operative and project information flows. The project is synergetic and it has a corresponding contribution into local and national strategies: Strategy of Carpathian European region 2020, Regional Development Strategy of Zakarpattya region for the period until 2020, Regional Development Strategy of Ternopil region for the period until 2020 and other. The achievement of the stated above goal will be provided by implementation of the following activities: – adaptation of experience of Czech Republic, Poland and Slovak Republic in training and improving qualification of teachers and students at Uzhhorod National University and Ternopil National Economic University in utilization of energetic equipment based on biological fuel, the systems of photovoltaic and thermal solar energy, the systems of geothermic surface energy etc. Training sessions and consulting in constant development of power engineering, renewable energy recovery and taking measures in adaptation to climate changes. Thematic seminars, trainings and exchange of the best practices and experience are going to be hold. The climate laboratories for renewable energy and energy efficiency will be created within the project on the basis of universities; – joint scientific investigations and creating common institutional base, which gives the possibility to use innovative approaches to develop recommendations for the most optimal combination of the sources of renewable energy, technologies with high energy efficiency during planning, design, building and modernization of industrial and housing territory and support free access to the stated above recommendations; – development of energetic concept Smart Energy based on cluster approach ?Universities-communities? for pilot communities and universities in order to improve international cooperation, exchange of experience and the best practices concerning regional strategies of the constant energetic development between partners and pilot communities to support a systematic approach to increase of energy efficiency in local communities of border territories; development, implementation and monitoring programs in improvement of energy and fuel resources efficiency. – energy management is considered to be a prospective educational course in higher educational institutions in EU countries and it should be integrated into each faculty and specialty. The staffs of Uzhhorod National University and Ternopil National Economic University are going to be trained by experts in the sphere of renewable energy and exchange experience between higher educational institutions. – in pilot communities, the energetic platform ?Smart Energy? will be intended to develop emission trading schemes, which will be a transparent and efficient tool for reducing emissions at the lowest possible cost to the economy. Allowances can also be traded: companies which do not use all of their allocated emission allowance can sell them to other companies that emit more greenhouse gases. Trading puts a price on the allowances ? and therefore on emissions. Ukrainian companies can use the resulting income to purchase or partially refinance environmentally friendly technology. This not only benefits companies in Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland but also ? and most importantly ? the environment and people all over the world. – best practices in enhancing renewable energy development will be developed on the base of a created powerful research platform taking into account energy utilization without gas emissions. It gives opportunity not only decrease gas emissions but also increase energy production and consumption without additional energetic contribution into heat balance. – the project will provide close cooperation between experts, nongovernmental organizations, mass media and private companies. Research centers and innovation houses, expert groups, nongovernmental organizations, professional institutions and communities based on a developed concept of energy integration with new energy resolutions for communities will use this powerful platform for further implementation of innovative initiatives and research projects in energy efficiency. Partnership proposal for my project. Improving Life Standards with New Generation Buildings in Africa (Imp-LiSt) addresses the Work Programme Topic named ?LC-SC3-EE-2-2018-2019: Integrated home renovation services? and ?LC-SC3-EC-2-2018-2019-2020: Mitigating household energy poverty? in Work Programme named ?Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy? into the Horizon 2020 Work Year. The project is planned to be implemented in Africa. The first implantation area is chosen Zambia. Imp-LiSt is also planned to reduce energy poverty by 60% or more, owing to the new generation houses with integrated solar power systems, by maximizing saving energy and to bring the city a new, tidy, clean view. In the project scope, total 5,000 houses will be built. Each house will be made by containers. Each will have 60-70 m2 size and will have 2 bedrooms, 1 WC-bathroom, 1 kitchen and living room (can be together) The total energy needs per house was counted as monthly 150 kW, annual 1800 kW. Each SP panel will be established either on the house roof or separately per group. e.g. if a construction region will have 100 houses and so, 32 panels (each 1kWh) will easily meet the energy needs of the 100 houses. Moreover, during project implementation, the project will be advertised and introduced under the project work plans. We need suitable partners for the implementation of the project.
